history
Pixel dirt was born from my longing for what the internet used to feel like: it was personal, gritty, unapologetic, and seeped with authenticity. It was simple and sustainable.
It’s difficult at times to not be wooed by the shininess of technology. AI, personal computing in our pockets, knowledge at our (literal) disposal at all times. When I find myself under the spell of shiny technology, I feel entranced by the deluge of quick information. To remedy this, I’m seeking solace in slow research, trial-by-error, and feeling around in the dark and sharing that path publically.
My interest in technology was born this way as I created crude yet satisfying and intensely personal websites as a pre-teen in the 90’s. This is my attempt to reclaim that digital joy & explore the idea of permacomputing.
